Teamwork, Safety, Service – What we promise, we deliver. Geeves Scaffolding has a wide range of experience in providing scaffolding and propping for clients in Wellington, Christchurch, Timaru and beyond
Geeves recently won the skills “Scaffolding training company of the year” award at the annual SARNZ conference in chch. The judges said:
“While compliance and regulatory training requirements are met, there is a noted focus on personal development and worker progression. Statements such as “better people make for better Scaffolders”, and “we don’t recruit our leaders we make them”, clearly reflect the extra training and support this company offers”.
November 2016 – This Hoon Hay Heritage House is a Christchurch City Council restoration and strengthening project. The Geeves Keder roof solution was selected by Amalgamated Builders Ltd over all other alternatives as it allowed a change in construction methodology. The removable membrane sections on the Keder roof allows the steel for roof bracing to be craned into position rather than using manual handling. This reduced the length of the construction program and overall cost of delivery for our client
Dan and Andy recently used the Geeves Scaffolding hiab truck to move a huge granite wheel and grinding stones to Bell Rd Lower Hutt. These stones were originally used in the Griffins Factory to grind down coconut for biscuits. They have been returned close to the old factory and will become a sculpture for the enjoyment of people walking along the Waiwhetu Stream.
We are looking for two new commercial mangers – one in Wellington and one in Christchurch. Commercial managers are responsible for marketing our business, quoting new work and managing the financial side of our jobs. The position requires a person who is able to communicate well, is accurate, entrepreneurial and service focused. About half of your day will be outside the office looking at new jobs and monitoring the progress of your existing jobs. There is huge variety of work – you could be quoting a stage for a rock concert, scaffold on a commercial high rise, a big tent or a sign replacement at the top of a building. Scaffolding experience is not required – some estimating or quantity surveying experience would be useful but full training will be given. Check out our video on youtube…
Our first job in Dunedin at the University. Nice tidy job – both the University and local Worksafe inspectors were impressed with the quality of our scaffold. Thanks to leading hand Jamie Summerill and his team for doing such a great job. Thanks also to Leighs Construction for giving us the opportunity.
